How do HDFC credit card billing cycles work?

When you buy a credit card from HDFC Bank. When you buying it they will give you a bill generation date according to you, that what date you will prefer to pay your bill.

Supposed you buy a credit card on 1st May the bank offer’s you that choose the billing date that you won’t pay your bill. And you choose 19th is your billing date for every month. Then your bill will be generated on 19th of every month.

After the billing date, the HDFC Credit Card bank will give you minimum 20 days to repay your amount otherwise you have to pay the interest which is around 3.49% of your amount which is spending. If in any case your not able to pay your credit card bill payment on time then you have to also pay the late payment charges which are around 750/-. And the interest is will be calculated with every transaction with your credit card ( rate of interest is 3.49 ).

Let’s come to the topic, you select the 19th is your billing date. In this, you will get just 20 interest-free days. The question is how you will get the 50 interest-free days. If you will shop on 20th of every month then you will the  50 interest-free days. Because your billing generation date is 19th but you shop on 20th, that means your next bill will be generated on the next 19th of the month and you will get 30 days of interest-free after the bill generation you will get 20 more days by the bank to pay your bill.

This the method how you will get the 50 interest-free days and enjoy your credit card without any problem.

Be careful if miss you Billing date and pay your minimum due amount. Because you minimum due will increase your rate of interest on your credit card and it’s going up to 36%, which is every-every high. So I personally suggest you never think to pay minimum due in credit cards.Otherwise, you will be stuck. If you’re not in a condition to pay you the bill then, try to pay some principal amount with minimum due so that you rate of interest will not go higher.

This is how the HDFC Credit Card billing cycle works and how to pay your credit card bills as well. Again i am saying that never pay minimum due.
